BOULDER, Colo., January 16, 2008 - Rally Software Development Corp.®, the leading on-demand provider of Agile software lifecycle management solutions, today announced it has once again doubled its revenue for the year. The company is poised to continue its growth in 2008 as it delivers increased agility and collaboration to the traditional application lifecycle management market - and pushes towards what is being hailed as "ALM 2.0" by industry analysts.
During 2007 Rally not only doubled its subscription revenue, the company also:
- Solidified its leadership position with a second Jolt Product Excellence award
- Continued its leadership role in educating on Agile development practices through the launch of Agile University™ and Agile Commons™
- Delivered on its vision of an "integration hub" for ALM throughout the enterprise
- Grew its customer base 60 percent and doubled seats sold in 2007
- Was lauded for its community leadership and citizenry
Market Leadership through Product Excellence and Education
Rally once again received industry acclaim for its products in 2007, winning a second consecutive Jolt Product Excellence Award in March. The "Emmy" of the software industry, the Jolt Awards are given to products, books and Web sites that have "jolted" the industry by helping to create faster, easier and more efficient software.
Also in 2007, Rally introduced both Agile University and Agile Commons, two online resources that provide software development professionals with access to global Agile training, knowledge and a new web community to learn and share experiences with peers. In addition, Rally announced the availability of Rally Community Edition™, a free product that, combined with the new online resources, helps software and corporate development teams successfully adopt and scale Agile practices.
The introduction of Rally's numerous integration "connectors" help multi-team development organizations protect existing investments, reduce implementation costs and create greater collaboration between technical and role-based silos, pulling them all into a real-time Agile dashboard. Throughout 2007, Rally successfully integrated with numerous development, quality assurance, testing, collaboration and project/portfolio management tools. In September Rally announced its work with Salesforce.com to simplify software lifecycle management through a suite of new agility products built on the Force.com platform.
According to Rally CTO and Founder Ryan Martens, "As 2008 approaches, Rally is committed to delivering on its vision of creating an on-demand application lifecycle management platform that allows even very large enterprises the agility and collaboration needed to compete in today's swift-moving "2.0" world."
Customer Growth
Rally has also seen significant customer growth, particularly as Agile practices are adopted beyond the team, up to the program and enterprise levels. During 2007 the company experienced a 60 percent increase in new customers and doubled the number of seats sold. Rally now counts among its customers such industry luminaries as Authoria, Avaya, BMC Software, Edmunds, Electronic Arts, Fidelity Investments, Fujitsu, General Dynamics, HP, Maximus, Pearson, Quest Diagnostics, Raytheon, Shopzilla, Sony Ericsson, Sun Microsystems, SunGard, Symetra Financial and Thomson Healthcare.
Company Stewardship and Citizenry
Rally also continued to garner accolades for its executive leadership team and its corporate success. In 2007 alone the company was recognized with the following awards:
- Rally Founders Named Entrepreneurs of the Year: Esprit Awards

In addition, Rally continued its progression up the greening curve in 2007 and in 2008, will more actively address the IT industry's role in sustainability, as well as cultivating a broader understanding of zero footprint computing. Rally has also committed to Windsource™ from Xcel to power the company's data center and began the benchmarking process with the City of Boulder's "Be Climate Smart" team.
