What's New in Release 2008.2
- Test folders for manual testing
- Automated testing dashboards
- Required & hidden fields
- Write-your-own reports & mashups
- One-click attachments
Test Folders for Manual Testing
Group your related test cases into folders to organize your manual regression tests. Test folders make it easier for testers to define and run a group of tests to validate new functionality.
- Rally's test case editor allows you to associate new or existing test cases to a folder
- The new test plan view displays a summary of all passing or failing tests by group
Automated Testing Dashboards
A new test plan view gives automation testing teams an informative summary dashboard of all their test plan results. Pull in your automated testing results from an external system to gain an instant high-level view of your test coverage.
- Grouping tests into folders allows testers to quickly drill down into individual tests that are failing and holding up an iteration or release
- Get your automation team trained on the new test plan page with an embedded video that explains how to set up folders and rollups
Required and Hidden Fields
Administrators can define any field in Rally as hidden or required to capture project data specific to their development team. Rally has also combined all of your customization into one simple work products & fields' page to make workspace setup and editing effortless.
- Use Rally's easy-to-use form editor to set the rules for any standard or custom field
- Decide which fields to hide based on statistics that show how often your users enter data in each field
- A visual indication clearly marks a field as required
Write your own reports and mashups
Make Rally the single source to view all relevant project information with new developer tools in Rally’s custom tabs. Embed any favorite reports, mashups, or information from data you store inside and outside of Rally. For example, write a custom report to show build integrity trends over the course of your iteration or release.
- Supports HTML code or JavaScript
- Use Rally's web services API and JSON to combine any Rally project data to build reports
- Administrators can decide to make custom HTML pages private or shared
- At Agile Commons find and share reports and mashups examples written by Rally customers
One Click Attachments
Quickly attach any supporting document, screenshot or data to any work item in Rally. Improved interface tools let you more easily add an attachment when you create or modify a defect, user story, task, test case or test result.
